How to Receive Information from the Counseling Center

What Can You Do to Make Sure You Graduate in May 2026?

Life After High School

  1. Moore Norman Technology Center: Apply online at Moore Norman Technology Center .
  2. Military: Contact a military recruiter.
  3. Work: Complete your job application. Paper applications should be completed neatly in ink.
  4. Undecided: Schedule a visit with Career Counselor Mrs. Cavnar. Sign up outside Room 658.
  5. College:
    1. Register for college entrance exams: Register for the ACT and/or register for the SAT .
    2. Apply to college: The earlier, the better.
    3. Request transcripts: Visit the Registrar and Transcripts page and follow the directions.
    4. Letters of recommendation: Provide your recommender with a resume and/or the Letter of Recommendation Information Sheet found on the MHS counselor page . Look under Scholarship and College Information. Please allow at least two weeks after your recommender receives the information.
    5. File the FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens October 1.
      1. Create an FSA ID by visiting the FAFSA website .
      2. Complete the FAFSA application beginning October 1. You may use the previous year's tax return information.
    6. College athletics: If you plan to play sports at a college or university, notify your counselor as soon as possible and register online with NCAA and/or NAIA . Transcripts are available through the Parchment website .
    7. Search and apply for scholarships:
      1. Go to the Moore High School webpage .
      2. Find and select Scholarship and College Information.
        1. Select Scholarship Banks to browse hundreds of online scholarships.
        2. Select Moore Public School District Scholarship Site.
          1. Online scholarships: select the scholarship name link.
          2. Paper scholarships: these will have an asterisk (*) by the scholarship name and are available in the Counseling Center.
          3. Scroll down the site to find additional scholarships.
          4. Listen to announcements for scholarships or read them online on the scholarship announcements page .
          5. Please let your counselor know about any scholarships you are offered, even if you decline them.
