What clubs or activities are you involved in at MHS?

I’m involved in Cross Country & Track and have previously been a part of class office, STUCO, and Moore Love. I am a concurrent student at Oklahoma City Community College and will graduate with 24 college hours this May.

What internship(s) were you part of during the 2024-25 school year?

I did an internship at Heritage Trails Elementary with Kindergarten.

Why did you choose to do an internship this year?

I chose to do an internship this year because I thought it was a really good opportunity to figure out what I would like to do for my future.

What are the benefits of doing an internship while in high school?

You get to experience real world jobs, shadowing people and figuring out what you want to do in college or in trade school, etc.

What are some things you’ve learned about your career interests since doing the internship?

I really have enjoyed working with kids and now know i want to do something pediatric-based.

What are your plans after high school graduation?

My plans after high school are to attend Arkansas Tech University on an athletic scholarship and to complete my undergraduate degree. I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and specialize in Pediatrics.

Has your internship helped set a direction for you for a college degree program or for a possible career?

Yes, my internship has made me realize I have a passion for working with children. I want to help them succeed and grow. My internship has shown me what it is like to work with kids on a personal level which has helped me understand them more.

Do you recommend students do an internship?

I recommend students do an internship so they can see what it would be like to work that certain career and to see if they enjoy shadowing it. I think there are only positive benefits that come out of doing an internship.
