The 2025 Tech Now State Competition took place April 30 at Southmoore High School with dozens of HT Racers from across Oklahoma, including our own Westmoore Jaguars and Southmoore SaberCats!

Students design each paper car on computers so that they can then use paper, glue, and nickels (for weight) to a set standard for fair races.

This event is sponsored by the Department of Rehabilitation Services and has existed for more than 20 years. According to a 2022 article by The Oklahoman, DRS served 82,533 Oklahomans with disabilities in 2021 with career preparation, employment, residential and outreach education, independent living programs and the determination of medical eligibility for disability benefits.

The agency assists job seekers with disabilities overcome barriers to employment and assists Oklahoma employers to find qualified, job-ready employees who become taxpayers.
