Central Elementary School announced today that it has launched its new school logo.

After decades with the old mark, Principal RaDonna Robbins said, "A logo is much more than a graphic. It is a symbol of who we are, what we believe and where we are headed.

"As our school continues to grow and evolve, we are proud to introduce a new logo that reflects our vision for the future while honoring the values that have always guided us."

Robbins said all schools reach important milestones that call for reflection and renewal and that theirs comes at a time when she and her staff are looking ahead with purpose and optimism. She said the effort was led by the Central staff and their Leader in Me Lighthouse team. As the project progressed, the staff voted on their favorite options and decided on the final mark together.
As education continues to change and the needs of our students, staff, and families evolve, we wanted a visual identity that better represents the innovative, student-centered work happening every day throughout our schools.

This summer, MPS partnered with Kent Johnson, owner of Massive Graphics in Norman, for design ideas and the final design and mark.

Robbins said the logo update is not about changing who they are, but is about creating a symbol that clearly communicates their commitment to excellence, growth and opportunity for every learner.

The new logo was carefully created to represent both our traditions and our future. Its clean, modern design reflects innovation, forward thinking, and the energy of our school community. At the same time, the elements of the logo were chosen to celebrate the values that define us: learning, connection, achievement, and belonging.

Robbins also shared her excitement for what the new mark means for her staff, students and families.

"For our staff, this new, strong logo serves as a reminder of the important work they do every day to inspire, support and educate students and reflects a shared commitment to excellence and continuous improvement," she said.

"For our students, the logo is a symbol of pride and possibility. It represents a community that believes in their potential and is dedicated to helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom," she continued.

She said for Central Elementary families, the new mark demonstrates their ongoing commitment to partnership and reflects the trust, support and collaboration that help create meaningful educational experiences for their children.

Robbins said that as they begin using their new logo across the school, in their communications and in their programs, their mission remains the same: to provide a supportive, engaging, and high-quality learning environment where every student can thrive.

This new logo is more than a refreshed image. It is a symbol of our shared journey, our collective achievements, and the bright future we are building together.
